Does Axis's Samsung offer really pay 22.5% back?
Axis Bank's Samsung offer is headlined at up to 22.5%. Its terms list 5% cashback, up to ₹3,000, paid after 90 days. What that comes to on your card.
The terms do not show how. Behind the “up to 22.5%” headline, the terms of Axis Bank’s Samsung offer list one benefit: 5% cashback, up to ₹3,000, on a single purchase of ₹20,000 or more. The bank credits it after 90 days, and each card gets one transaction a month. The offer runs from 1 September to 30 November 2026.
The 22.5% figure appears in the headline of the offer page and in the “Offer Details” line of the terms. No clause below it says which product, model or payment route reaches that rate.
What the terms list
The cashback is 5% of the transaction. The floor is ₹20,000 for most products, and five categories get a lower one: ₹10,000 for microwave ovens and for panels, ₹14,000 for refrigerators and for washing machines, and ₹9,000 for air purifiers. The ceiling is ₹3,000 whatever you buy. The terms add that the offer applies to selected models only, and they do not name the models.
The floor and the ceiling give the working range. A purchase at the ₹20,000 floor returns ₹1,000. The ceiling fills at ₹60,000, and every purchase above that returns the same ₹3,000.
Take a phone at ₹1,20,000. Five per cent of that price would be ₹6,000. The ceiling pays ₹3,000, which is 2.5% of the price, and the percentage keeps shrinking as the price goes up.
The cashback is worked on a single transaction, and the terms say bills cannot be clubbed to reach a floor. With one transaction a month across three months, one card can collect ₹9,000 at most, from three separate purchases of ₹60,000 or more.
The offer covers all Axis Bank credit cards except NR and corporate cards. It does not apply to purchases through the CSD channel.
The cashback comes later
The offer page calls it an instant discount. The terms call it cashback and say it is credited “after 90 days” to the customer’s account by the bank. On that wording you pay the full price on the day of purchase, and the ₹3,000 arrives about three months later.
The wait has conditions attached. Returned, disputed or rejected transactions are not considered. Samsung can ask for the invoice at any time, and the terms give 7 days to produce it before the cashback can be withdrawn and recovered. If the credit does not arrive, you have to raise a query during the offer period or within 90 days of its end, with a scanned copy of the invoice.
The terms also say no two Axis offers can be combined. If the Samsung store shows another Axis offer on the same product, you get one of them.
The EMI question the terms leave open
The document is titled “Terms and Conditions for Samsung Campaign on Axis Bank Credit Card EMI”. One clause allows one transaction a month “for the Cashback / EMI”. Nowhere do the terms say in plain words whether a full swipe qualifies or whether the purchase has to be on EMI. Samsung’s payment page settles that, because the offer line shows against the payment options it covers.
The answer changes what a card earns by itself. The Ace card’s record says EMI transactions earn nothing, and that a purchase converted to EMI later has its cashback reversed. Ace pays 1.5% on ordinary spends, so a ₹60,000 purchase on a full swipe earns ₹900 of the card’s own cashback, and the same purchase on EMI earns none. If the offer only applies on EMI, an Ace holder gets the ₹3,000 and gives up the ₹900.
The terms do not mention the cost of the EMI itself. They give no interest rate and no processing fee, and they do not promise a no-cost tenure. Those charges, where they apply, come out of the ₹3,000.
On the Samsung Axis Infinite card
This card has a Samsung benefit of its own. Its record carries 10% cashback on Samsung purchases, including EMI transactions, capped at ₹5,000 a month and ₹20,000 a year. A month’s ceiling fills at ₹50,000 of Samsung spend.
So on a ₹60,000 purchase, the card’s own feature is worth ₹5,000 and the offer open to every Axis card is worth ₹3,000. The offer terms say two Axis offers cannot be combined. They do not say whether a card’s built-in cashback counts as an offer for that rule. Neither the card’s record nor the terms settle it, so treat a double credit as unconfirmed until a statement shows both lines.
What to check on your own purchase
At checkout, look for the Axis offer line before you pay, and note whether it shows on the full-payment option or only on EMI. If the line is missing, the model is outside the selected list or the card has used its transaction for the month.
Keep the invoice. The terms let Samsung ask for it, and a dispute needs it.
Count 90 days from the purchase date, then look for the cashback on the statement that follows. For a purchase late in November, the window to raise a query is 90 days from 30 November.
If the purchase went on EMI, read the first statement for a processing fee, interest and GST on the interest. Subtract them from ₹3,000. What remains is what the offer paid.
On a Samsung Axis Infinite card, check that statement for two things: the card’s own 10% and the offer’s 5%.
Krediit keeps this offer next to each Axis card’s record, so the cap, the monthly limit and what the card earns by itself show as rupees before you pay.
