The Flipkart Axis card’s welcome benefit is worth ₹350 on paper: a ₹250 Flipkart voucher for the first transaction within 30 days of issuance, and 50% off up to ₹100 on a first Swiggy order. The voucher goes only to cards that were charged the ₹500 joining fee, and Axis is issuing the card with a nil joining fee as a limited-period offer. A card opened under that offer gets the Swiggy discount and nothing else from the welcome benefit.

What the first transaction has to be

The Flipkart voucher’s terms ask for one transaction within 30 days of card issuance. They do not ask for a Flipkart transaction. A grocery bill, a fuel fill or a UPI payment on the card qualifies as long as it is not cancelled, refunded or a cash withdrawal, which the terms exclude by name. The voucher is sent to the registered mobile number within 30 days of that first transaction, as a link that drops the amount into a Flipkart wallet. It cannot buy other Flipkart gift vouchers or a Flipkart First subscription, and any balance above the voucher has to be paid by card or net banking, not cash on delivery.

The cashback on the first purchase is separate and arrives on its own schedule. The card pays 5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip and 7.5% on Myntra, 4% at the preferred merchants on Axis’s list, and 1% elsewhere, credited to the next statement. A first order of ₹5,000 on Flipkart earns ₹250 of cashback at 5%, the same amount as the voucher, so a paid card that opens with a Flipkart order of that size collects both and ends its first month ₹500 ahead, which is the joining fee.

The Cleartrip voucher is a separate, harder ask

Axis’s page also lists a limited-period Cleartrip voucher worth ₹1,500 for ₹30,000 of spend within 30 days of issuance. The card record carries it as part of the welcome set, with the same two conditions: the spend has to land inside 30 days, and the card has to have been charged the ₹500 joining fee. Cancelled, refunded and cash transactions do not count towards the ₹30,000. The voucher reaches the registered mobile number within 60 days of the first transaction.

₹30,000 in a month at the 5% partner rate, if all of it went through Flipkart or Cleartrip, would itself earn ₹1,500 of cashback, which is as much as the voucher. The same ₹30,000 at the 1% rate for everything else earns ₹300. Where the spend goes decides whether the first month’s return is the voucher alone or the voucher doubled.

Who is left out

The joining fee decides everything except the Swiggy discount. The record and Axis’s page agree: a first-year-free card, one issued with no joining fee, is not eligible for the ₹250 Flipkart voucher or the ₹1,500 Cleartrip voucher. With the joining fee at nil for new applicants right now, a card issued today qualifies for neither. The fee the card does carry is the ₹500 annual fee from the second year, waived on spend above ₹3,50,000 in the year before, with rent and wallet loads stripped out of that count.

The Swiggy discount has its own conditions. It is for customers new to Swiggy only, on a cart of at least ₹129, with the code AXISFKNEW applied at checkout, within 30 days of card issuance, and once per customer. Someone who already orders on Swiggy gets no part of the ₹350.

What the fine print carries

The 30-day clock starts at card issuance, not at delivery or activation. A card that sits in a drawer for three weeks has nine days left for the first transaction, and nine days for the ₹30,000 if the Cleartrip voucher is the aim.

A refund undoes the qualifying transaction. The terms exclude cancelled and refunded transactions from both vouchers, so a first order that is returned within the window leaves the card without a valid first transaction unless something else was charged in time. The card’s cashback also reverses on a refund, as the record notes.

The ₹350 headline adds a voucher to a discount. The ₹250 is a stored value a cardholder can spend on Flipkart. The ₹100 is a cap on a 50% discount, so a ₹129 cart saves roughly half that, and only a cart of ₹200 or more reaches the full ₹100.

What to check on your own account

Start with the joining fee line on the first statement. If it shows ₹500 plus taxes, the two vouchers are in play. If it shows nothing, only the Swiggy discount is.

Then compare the issuance date on the card letter or in the Axis app with the date of the first posted transaction. The gap has to be 30 days or less, and the transaction has to still be standing, not refunded.

Check the registered mobile number too. Both vouchers arrive there as links, the Flipkart one within 30 days of the first transaction and the Cleartrip one within 60. A changed number after issuance is the usual reason a voucher never seems to arrive.

Krediit keeps this card’s record against the spend you log, counts the days left in the welcome window and the distance to ₹30,000 while the window is open, and shows the next statement’s cashback beside the voucher so the first month’s return is one number.
