The HDFC GIGA and BizGrow are both business cards with a ₹500 annual fee, both pay 2 CashPoints per ₹200 on ordinary spend, and both cap their accelerated tier at 1,500 CashPoints a statement cycle. The accelerated rate is where they part: GIGA pays 6 CashPoints per ₹200 and BizGrow pays 20. At the catalog’s ₹0.25 a CashPoint, that is 0.75% against 2.5%, on the same list of business categories.

The shared ceiling matters more than either rate. 1,500 CashPoints is ₹375 a cycle, or ₹4,500 a year, and both cards stop there.

What the accelerated tier covers

On both cards the tier is a list of business categories rather than a spending style: bills paid through SmartPay and PayZapp, income tax, GST, MakeMyTrip MyBiz booked through SmartBuy BizDeals, and business software through Nuclei. BizGrow adds advance tax on the income-tax portal, Dmart and ClearTax.

GIGA also names a long list of merchant category codes for business digital spend, covering printing, industrial supply, computer equipment, professional services and software. A supplier outside those codes earns the base rate.

Each card sets an entry condition. GIGA needs at least ₹200 in the transaction. BizGrow needs at least ₹10,000 of spend in the statement cycle before the tier pays at all, which is a cycle-level test rather than a per-transaction one.

The ceiling arrives at a different place on each card

Because the ceiling is set in points and the rates differ, the two cards reach it on very different spend.

BizGrow fills 1,500 CashPoints on ₹15,000 of qualifying spend in a cycle, at 20 per ₹200. One GST payment does it. Everything after that in the same cycle drops to 2 CashPoints per ₹200, which is 0.25%.

GIGA takes ₹50,000 of qualifying spend to fill the same 1,500 CashPoints, at 6 per ₹200. The rate is lower, so the accelerated band runs three times as far before it closes.

For a business whose qualifying spend sits under ₹15,000 a cycle, BizGrow’s higher rate applies to all of it. Above ₹50,000 a cycle, both cards have stopped paying anything but the base rate, and the difference between them for that month is nothing.

What earns nothing on either card

Petrol, wallet loads, rent, education fees and EMI earn no CashPoints on either card. Inside PayZapp the accelerated tier also skips clubs, housing, rent, hospitals, education, donations, mutual funds, loans, credit-card payments and wallet loads, and on GIGA also FASTag and municipal taxes.

BizGrow charges for two of those rather than merely declining to reward them: rent carries a 1% fee capped at ₹3,000 a transaction, and fuel a 1% fee above ₹30,000 a transaction.

Both cards waive the fuel surcharge at 1% on transactions between ₹400 and ₹5,000, capped at ₹250 a month. Foreign currency spends carry 3.5% on both.

The milestones and the fee waivers differ

GIGA pays 800 bonus CashPoints for ₹50,000 of spend in a month, and waives its renewal fee at ₹50,000 of annual spend.

BizGrow pays a ₹250 gift voucher on the first transaction within 37 days, and 2,000 bonus CashPoints for ₹1,00,000 of retail spend in a calendar quarter, with rent and fuel excluded from that total. Its renewal waiver needs ₹1,00,000 of annual spend, twice GIGA’s.

Both are issued on business income rather than salary. GIGA’s record carries a ₹4,00,000 ITR floor and notes that GST returns or merchant statements also serve.

Getting the points out

Entry-tier CashPoints redeem at ₹0.25 each, against the statement, on SmartBuy flights and hotels, or in the rewards catalogue. That valuation is what turns 1,500 CashPoints into ₹375 and makes the accelerated rates read as fractions of a percent rather than as multipliers.

The multiplier language on the page is doing a lot of work here. BizGrow’s tier is marketed as 10X, and 10X of a base worth 0.25% is 2.5%, not ten percent of anything. GIGA’s 3X is 0.75% on the same arithmetic. Both are ordinary rates once the point has a price on it, and both stop at ₹375 a cycle.

What to check on your own statement

The accelerated tier is the only line worth auditing on either card.

Check where the 1,500 CashPoints landed in the cycle. On BizGrow that can happen inside one tax payment, and everything after it earned the base rate.

Check that BizGrow’s ₹10,000 cycle condition was met before the qualifying spend posted. A quiet month can leave the tier switched off entirely.

Check which supplier codes qualified on GIGA. Two vendors selling the same service can settle under different codes, and only one of them pays 0.75%.

Both records here are dated, with the category lists, the conditions and the shared ceiling as HDFC publishes them. Krediit holds them against your own spend, so the app shows which of the two cards is still inside its band this cycle rather than which one looked better on the page.
